What it does:The curse mark is a mark for power to Zento. Something given to him a long time ago. He normally uses this as a plan against his opponents to crush them as soon as he can. In stage one, Zentos Strength and Reaction speed are increased three ranks than normal.In He can choose to activate this stage whenever needed. Come the second stage, Strength, Reaction speed, and Ninjutsu/Kinjutsu are increased by three ranks that normal. In order to make this stage active, Zento must have the desire to kill his opponent. Stage three, Strength, Locomotive speed, Reaction speed, Ninjutsu/Kenjutsu, and chakra capacity are increased by three ranks than normal. To reach the final stage, Zento must abandon his humanity and become more than a human, but a true monster to end his opponent.

Hrm okay I misunderstood over skype, I thought by stages you wanted it to scale in ranks as well so how about 4k for 1st, 2k for 2nd, and 1k for third? Just switch'er around.

Ninjutsu/Kinjutsu
SpaceTime/Fuuinjutsu
Poison and Puppetry
You can pick two which brings it up to 4 total sub-stat boosts and thats the max amount allowed for jutsus.

Just detail a bit more about becoming more in his mind, I understand the losing the humanity part.
Finally just give some general character developments for each level such as;
Failing to protect a comrade
Seeing a friend die
Overcoming a giant challenge
Winning a fight against a higher ranked opponent
etc
