| Name: Ootsutsuki Basara Age: 17 Birthday: November 8th Gender: Male Appearance: Basara is a young, attractive man with light caramel skin complexion standing at about 5'10" weighing 162 lbs. The muscle definition in Basara is very lean. He has several scars on his body but none on his back. With silver short spiky hair, Basara has little no facial hair. He wears beige cargo pants and a black closed hooded shirt with a black under shirt. The black shoes he wears are as flexible as rubber bands. Around his waist there is a pink ocarina. Also around his waist is an weapon called "Cross Tail" which is a string based mechanism made up entirely of adamant. During battle Basara attaches Cross Tail to his arm. Personality: Basara is tough but emotionally and mentally scarred. He raril ever lets anyone see himself with a sad expression. He also rarely gets angry. The only time he is most angered is when someone he cares for is hurt or insulted. Almost always in a peaceful mood. From an early age he had been adventurous to the point he almost died 3 times. However, although he nearly died multiple times, adventuring has become one of his favorite hobbies. Ever since the massacre of his village he often dazes. During the time he is alone to daze, he plays the ocarina once played by his lover. Always ready to offer a hand for assistant, Basara thinks to help others more often than he does for himself. He is always ready to put his life on the line in order to protect the people he cares for most. History: Abandoned at the age of 5, Basara has struggled to survive by becoming a mercenary. Found on the brink of starvation, an old traveling caravan had been passing by. The caravan had picked the boy up and brought him to there village, where he was fed and treated. From that moment on he lived in that village for 9 years. Basara had grown to love this peaceful village until one fateful night. On Basara's 14th birthday the village had been ravaged and the villagers who saved him had been slaughtered before his eyes. He had survived that night because the closest friend he had "Saria" pushed him into a trap door that could only fit one person. Frantically screeming for her to switch places with him, Basara had realized that Saria had sacrificed herself for him to survive. As Basara quieted himself he heard in Saria's voice "I'm really glad this time I was able to protect the man I love" A loud explosion was heard after and Basara started crying covering his mouth so his screams wouldn't be heard. He had realized he too was in love with Saria. It is now day break. After the carnage Basara arose from the debris, looking for Saria. Nobody was to be found. In the corner of his eye he caught a glare from an object. Basara had picked up the object to reveal it was the pink ocarina Saria would always play. With tear filled eyes he clinches the ocarina and raised it high to the heavens. Basara bellowed in agony "I will never let anyone die again!" “Well I guess it’s time!” said Basara as he threw his bag over his shoulder, leaving the village chief's hut setting out on his quest.
The village Basara resided in was called Cocoyashi village, one of the most peaceful villages in all of the Fire Country. It was an outskirt village so it also happened to be one of the poorer villages. Men were constantly being sent to fight in wars and only 30% of them were able to return. Even though Cocoyashi was plagued with being an outskirt village no one had thought it to be a burden. This in fact led all the villagers to know one another better so that they can help each other through tough times. Although Basara had just entered the village six years ago, he was already treated like he was family. As Basara was about to leave the village a voice is heard.
“Hey! hey! Are you sure you want to do this!?” Saria pleaded while running to catch up to Basara. Saria was a young girl about 2 years older than Basara. She was wearing a long sleeveless shirt that reached down halfway between her hip and knee. Her scarlet hair was tied in a ponytail She was also holding a pink ocarina as she was begging Basara to stay.
“Come on you know someone has to stop this thing. Plus I owe you and the chief and the rest of the village so much.” -Basara
“But what if something happens, again you’ll be alone.” -Saria
“Don’t worry I have a plan this time.” Basara grinned
“Huh!? Basara has a plan!? When did that ever go well?....
Basara and Saria turn to the village and the chief of the village “Taliban” was standing there with about 15 more villagers.
“We came to see you off and to wish you luck on the hunt” said one village
“We are very sorry for asking you to do something like this Basara.” said another villager
“You know the current state of our village and we cannot simply send any of the men remaining to go out for a hunt. I would like to thank you again for accepting.” The chief had lowered his head, bowing to Basara as if he was a messenger of God himself.
The villagers all gasp at the chief’s actions. “Hey, hey, hey! Chief you don’t need to bow to someone like me! I was just some kid you found on the streets. I should be the one that should be thanking you.” -Gambino
After about another 5 minutes of gratitude by the villagers Basara finally sets off. Saria is playing a song on her ocarina as Basara walks away.
*Flashback starts Just about a month ago villagers have not been coming back as they were hunting and harvesting crops outside the village. In an attempt to find out what was going on some of the village children decided to go check this out for themselves. At the time Saria and Basara were out hunting. They had caught a decent amount of food and was about to head back to the village when they heard loud screams echoing through the forest. In their sight they could see some children running frantically but from what? A couple trees were tumbling down and thats when they saw a large beast that was bearlike. The beast was about the size of an average tree so on sight they were surprised to see something so large around their village. Saria with her quick thinking ran towards the beast in an attempt to distract it from the children. Basara was still in shock and only realized what he had to do when Saria was 10 feet away from the beast. Basara dashed to the children and guided them back to the village. Worried about Saria, Basara rushed back to the battle between Saria and the beast. Gasping for air Basara continuously looks for Saria until he screamed her name multiple times. The sounds of branches cracking was picked up by Basara and as he turned towards the sound a body flew past him into a tree. It was Saria! Basara quickly rushed to her aid but she was barely clinging to her life. Angered Basara stood up to find the beast but at the moment he turned around the beast had already swung its massive arm to knock Basara into a few trees. The onslaught from the beast didn’t stop there it quickly ran towards Basara attempting to end Basara’s life but with a quick reaction Basara threw some dirt into the eyes of the beast temporarily blinding it. With the small dagger he had from the previous hunting he had stabbed the beast into the right eye permanently blinding its right eye. Feeling like his bones would shatter at any moment Basara went to sit at Saria’s side unable to move. The beast had just begun to get it’s vision in its left eye back and prepared to end Saria and Basara’s lives. Saria regained consciousness sat up to hold the barely conscious Basara. She told him “I’m sorry I wasn’t able to protect you.” At this moment the beast had almost reached the two until a flash of light emitted in the area. With the vision of Basara, Saria and the beast impaired a man had come to rescue the two. Picking them both up on each shoulder the man said “sorry I’m late” and ran off with them towards the village. Before they could see who the man was that rescued them they both lost consciousness. *Flashback ends
Basara has appeared on the scene where he first met the beast. The only thing that changed was the fact that there were more trees down.
“Alright perfect! This plan will definitely work.” Basara grins while reaching into his bag. In his bag, contained rope, a small shovel and some rations. He was also carrying a bow with 4 arrows and a dagger around his waist. For about 2 hours Basara had been non-stop working to set up traps around the inevitable fight area. Finally to top of the traps Basara had put some rations in each of the 3 traps he had set. At this time the sun had started to set and at that moment Basara said “it’s time!” He climbed one of the taller trees so that he could see all the traps. A few hours pass on and the beast was not to be found. Basara growing impatient and leapt down from the tree to go look around but could not find the beast. After about another 10 minutes Basara thought the beast may have went to a different location so he started to head to the village. As Basara was walking through the forest a certain smell had caught his attention. It was the smell of a rotting corpse. Going to check the scene, Basara slowly walks over to see what kind of corpse it was only to reveal it was the corpse of one of the villagers. The only way of identifying the villager was the dagger in the hands of the corpse. The dagger had the symbol of the village a half moon half sun carving on the handle. Startled by this Basara with wide eyes had stumbled backwards falling to the ground. the moment he fell was also the moment he heard the sound of branches breaking as if being stepped on. He stands and turns towards the sound, the beast he had attempted to defeat was there, in his sight. Before Basara could make an expression, the beast had started running towards him roaring with aggression.
Basara started to calm down, thinking to himself he says “time to test this plan.” He runs away from the beast towards the closest trap he could find.
The first trap he saw was already set off from a wild boar. Annoyed Basara ran to the next trap. This trap was a pitfall trap. Basara had dug a massive hole that would leave anyone or anything that fell in it sustain a broken limb. He runs around the left side of the hole. The beast was knocking trees down to catch up with Basara. Seeing the direction Basara was headed it turned its head. Unable to see the hole that was directly in front of it because of its right eye being disabled, the beast had fallen into the massive hole.
Hands on his knees, Basara is gasping for air. “I… can’t.. believe.. that worked!!” Now Basara standing over the hole pulls out his bow. He takes aim and fires an arrow straight at the legs of the beast to further immobilize. He shoots 3 more at the beast’s legs 2 arrows in each leg.
“Now with this you won't be able to get up here so stay there and rot away.” Basara says to the beast. Walking away from the hole a sound is heard similar to that of rocks being thrown to the ground. The beast had begun to climb the walls of the hole and in a matter of seconds it was halfway up the wall.
In a panic Basara says “No way you’re a monster. With all these injuries how can you possibly move like that?” By the time he had thought to run away from the beast it had already ascended to the top of the hole.
Now the beast is chasing Basara all over the forest until Basara finally remembered he had a third trap. With the rope he had, he pulled back a large branch and tied it to a nearby tree. With this it would have enough force to knock back the beast. Basara rushes over to his last hope. It was still intact! Basara takes out his dagger, looks back to see how close the beast was. The beast was closing in on him fast. With all his might, Basara pushes himself to go even faster to reach the trap in time. The beast extended its arm ready to strike him as it closed in. Basara without knowing what the beast was about to do slid under the rope and struck it with all his might. The beast had been whacked back into a nearby tree. Basara on the floor breathing heavy proclaiming he had defeated the beast. He sits up and turns towards the downed beast. In an instant Basara had been knocked several trees away. The beast had not been affected enough by Basara's trap. The beast then hovered over the downed Basara. With the final blow inevitable the beast raised its arm, then went straight for the kill. Basara closed his eyes waiting for his death. He opened up his eyes thinking why he hadn't felt any pain to see the beast had tumbled over. It worked! All the damage dealt to this monster finally affected it. Basara stood up to strike the beast in the legs multiple times with the dagger. With the remaining rope he had, he tied up the beast to make it completely immobile. Weakened greatly he began dragging to beast towards the village. Finally he reached the village entrance and collapsed. When he came too, he was in the village doctor’s hut. Trying to figure out what happened, he began looking around and saw that Saria was sleeping right next to him.
Just a few minutes later the doctor comes in and says to Basara, “Ah, so you are finally awake now. Aren’t cha’ boy.”
Basara looking confused, “Hey doc. How’s it going?”
“Sheesh, thats my line.” -Doctor
A few moments after, Saria wakes up and looks at Basara with a sad expression. Basara looking right back her started to smile to reassure her he was fine. In an instant she made an angry expression and struck him on the top of his head.
“You idiot! Do you have any idea how worried I was!? You would've died if the village children didn't see you lying on the ground!” Tears ran down Saria’s face. She buried her face in Basara’s chest hugging him so tight. “I’m so glad you came back home.” She began crying harder
Following up her embrace, Basara held the back of her head, lowering his head towards hers saying “I’m sorry to have worried you Saria. I’m home.”
The following morning, Basara went to the chief's hut to report he captured the beast. The chief had walked over to Gambino to bow to him in gratitude and also forgiveness.
“Truly I’m am most thankful that you were able to capture the beast that has taken many of our fellow villagers lives. I am deeply sorry you had to undergo severe injuries.” -Chief Taliban
“It’s ok, honestly chief. Please don’t lower your head for someone like me.” -Basara “Hey Basara. Remember the reward I was telling you about?” - Chief Taliban
“Yeah! You promised 10 gold pieces right?” -Basara
“Yes, it is exactly as you have said. How about you learned the arts of ninjutsu since you’re already 11?” -Chief Taliban
“What? Really!? I can use ninjutsu!?” Basara was very excited to hear he could use ninjutsu.
“Yes you can. It will be an even harsher trial than that of the beast hunt. Will you still accept?” -Chief Taliban
“Yes sir!” Basara stated with confidence.
“Very well, I’ll see to your preparations at once.” -Chief Taliban
And So Gambino began his new adventure that would last 2 years.
