Event: Catch the Grumpy Groundhog!

Mission Specs:

Kirito had taken this oddball mission partly to gain some money for his village but also because he would be doing it with his friend Hikari who he hadn't seen in a while. They had been tasked with traveling to this ancient village and catching a strange summon the locals used to change the weather. It had apparently gone berserk and ran to hide in a maze of tunnels inside of a cave. They had to heal the summon and return it to the village alive. It seemed like an extremely easy task to complete, especially with how much he and Hikari had grown. He had arrived at the entrance to the village and was waiting for his friend there before proceeding with the mission.

Flying in with a flash of light, Hikari Otsutsuki of the Tenseigan quickly would grab her friend and drag him away to the groundhogs supposed location. After all, the mission couldn't start anywhere else could it? Stopping in an underground cave entrance, she would look in to find quite a sight. Within a Solid steel room a angry rodent awaited. It was too perfect.

"Alright Kirito here is the plan. Send a clone in there to hold it off while I plug up the entrance ok? If that thing escapes its all over. Go go go!"

Hikari suddenly showed up in a flash of light. Before Kirito could say anything at all, she grabbed him and they rushed off towards the cave the summon was supposed to be hiding in. Apparently she wanted to get this mission done and over with as quickly as possible for some reason. That was fine with Kirito as he just wanted to help the village and claim the rewards. When they arrived at the cave it appeared to be made completely out of steel from top to bottom with only one entrance or exit. This should be even easier than he had originally thought.

"Alright Kirito here is the plan. Send a clone in there to hold it off while I plug up the entrance ok? If that thing escapes its all over. Go go go!"

Well that was one plan. Seemed like Hikari was really trying to take charge on this mission. It was hard for Kirito to let her take the lead after accustoming himself to his role as head of the Senju clan and Village Leader. But he eventually got his emotions under control and decided to follow her lead, if only for a short time. She asked for a clone so he was ready to give her one. He quickly performed the hand seals Tiger-Dog-Snake with practiced hands and a clone formed from wooden tendrils out of a tree 3 ft behind him. Once the clone was formed it cautiously made its way into the steel lined room that this summon was in, preparing to contain the creature long enough for Hikari to seal the entrance.

Arc had heard of another mission going on that provided wonderfull rewards.  though he suspected he would see some familiar faces.  Arriving at the scene at a slow walking pace he saw the two ninja he had done the mission with previously.  they were gesturing and waving and doing hand seals and making clones.  it was all very eleborate.  He doubted anyone would notice the body he was dragging behind him.  it was the body of the intruder that had caused the summon to go haywire.  

Arc walked up behind the two still preparing to dive into the cave.  "you know Hikari sealing the entrance to the cave wouldn't really help anyone."  he said in a way of greeting.  He nodded at the two Kirito's.  His eye patch was securely in place.  "What is you plan for drawing out the poison?"  Arc said to hikari as he dropped the guy he was holding.  an unconscious grunt let those around him know the man was still alive.

Deep within the metal room which our grumpy groundhog slept, it's eyes suddenly opened to the voices of humans. Wait....did it like humans or not? A voice in its head promised tasty treats if it decided to not like them so it went along as a demonic red tint began to form in its eyes as it stood up and let out and angry REEEEETTTTTTTT that would echo in the steel room that it had strangely made its home. Through some strange control beyond its small brains level of thought it would use the mud spore technique, spewing mud from its mouth in a 15m blast at a speed and power of 30 in an attempt to ward off its attackers as it than attempted to escape into the ground using hiding like a mole and would begin to panic as it realized that it could not break through the solid steel, its claws striking the substance doing nothing to crumple the metal.

And so much was happening all at once. Thankfully it seemed that her Senju friend didn't give two shits that he basically got kidnapped and told to do things and all of a sudden Arc was here dragging a half dead body, presumably the dumb one who had decided to go ahead and stop the poor groundhog full of drugs. Seriously, what kind of depraved human being hits a groundhog? She would like to give the man a kick for good measure, but by the looks of it he had already been beaten pretty heavily. Anyway, it was time to reveal the rest of the plan. Making the seal of the ram she would be enveloped in smoke.

"Everyone, meet my paths."

around her 7 clones stood at attention, each one holding a shakujo in their hand. All of their eyes glimmered with the blue tint of the Tenseigan, showing that they were currently being used as her 7 paths.

"Dui, the lake path, will be removing the poison from the groundhog once it has been subdued. However to keep it from escaping I will need to seal the entrance so that the groundhog has no chance of escape. Problem is, these clones are rather weak and when attacked they will dispel, which is why it is rather good fortune that I have two splendid fighters with me."

It would be around this time that the groundhog woke up, sending a spray of mud at them. Gen saw it coming for miles, its sharp eyes alerting all the paths within the shared vision causing a sudden reaction within the paths to occur. Li would flare up and appear above the groundhog at a speed of 100, summoning the rest of its paths as they all would performe a rather well coordinated combo attack, Gen attacking the lower stomach by dashing up and uppercutting it, Gun the mouth with a punch that sadly wouldn't do much. Kan,Xun,Zhen and Li all roundhouse kicking the legs in an attempt to cause it to fall. Dui would stand back due to it being the healer of the group and Qian.....Qian was still with the group, seeing as it was housed within Hikari's body. With a roar all 6 wings would sprout from her tenseigan cloak into a purple shroud, a large plug would be produced at a speed of a delayed 100 which would quickly grow to close off the entrance, still allowing enough time for her comrades to get through if they so desired. She herself would then teleport into the room by the calling of Li at a speed of 100 to help her paths on the situation. Shared vision could only be used so much without getting a major headache.

Since Kirito's wood clone was already in the steel room when the groundhog woke up, he was the first one to respond. He weaved the seals Tiger-Hare-Boar-Dog at a speed of 100 and a large wall of earth emerged from the ground to momentarily seal off the entrance to the room. This way the groundhog couldn't escape and Clone Kirito could knock it out and extract the poison. The ground hog had awoken with an angry screeching sound and used the mud spore technique at the same time Clone Kirito had created the earth wall. That was perfect. It gave Clone Kirito some earth to use against it.

He quickly made the Snake hand seal and a large root emerged from the mud at a speed of 100 wrapping around the groundhog and keeping it in place. Clone Kirito stopped the jutsu, keeping the groundhog in place. This was even easier than he had anticipated. He could have taken his time with his next movements but instead he moved at a speed of 80 to put his hands on the groundhog's forehead and, using his Delicate Illness Extraction technique, carefully removed the poison from it. The hole procedure was over fairly quickly and left the groundhog unconscious. Again performing the Snake hand seal, Clone Kirito released the ground hog and lifted him over his soldier. Now all that was left was to exit the steel room and take the groundhog back to the village. He charged the earth wall, a spiraling dense ball of chakra in his hand, and shattered it exiting the steel lined room.

Kirito, being still on the outside of the steel cave room thing and mentally linked with his wood clone, knew everything that had transpired inside the room. "The groundhog has been captured and the poison has been extracted. See you guys back at the village." he said and then performed the Ram seal and took off to the village at a speed of 160 just as the earth wall exploded. His clone performed the Ram seal as well and took off after Kirito at a speed of 160 with the groundhog over his shoulder so that they could hand over the summon and collect the mission reward.

Claiming all mission rewards

Arcanis dropped the man he was holding as everyone sprang into action.  He didn't really need to do anything infact he was more interested in what he knew about this worlds chakra.  Now that he thought about it chakra flow and combination acted a lot like a different type of magical act that a lot of people liked to call “science” back where he was from.  Alchemy was indeed very organized and had formulas and stuff like that but in the end it was just as much a magical art as anything else.  Arcanis knew enough about it as it was a class that he had to take when he was younger.  It was interesting but at some point people thought it was more like the studies of the occult than anything else.  So he hadn't pursued it.  However with how similar it was to this worlds chakra system Arc though it would be a good idea to look into seeing whether or not this world's physics worked like his world at all.  

Arc realized he had zoned out as things were happening.  Kirito was already in the cave and he seemed to want to handle the heavy lifting himself this time.  He had sealed off the entrance of the cave with some sort of earth wall.  Honestly Arc didn't care.  Arcanis sat down on the ground and leaned up against the guy he had been carrying.  He looked up at the sky and began to remember other things about his home.  The trees were the same.  The sky was the same color.  The stars, as Arc had found out were all aligned different.  However since he didn't have an accurate celestial chart he couldn't compare the two to find out exactly where he was.  


Suddenly the earth wall exploded and chunks of rock flew outward at him.  Doing a couple hand seals Arc shot a lattice of electromagnetic lightning out of his hands rendering the rocks practically useless.  The earth dissolved and disintegrated to nothing.  He had seen a similar reaction when transmuting a rock into sand.  The rock had acted like the stone when it was used as a component in the alchemical formula.   

Kirito Exited the cave with the groundhog in tote.  If Arc had been paying attention he would know that the one carrying the ground hog was a clone but he didn't care much.  Arc elbowed a gently stirring captive in the side of the head just enough to knock him back out.

“I guess we're done here guys.  Good seeing you again.  Glad I could come out and help”  Arc wished he could just talk to these people.  Instead he sat there silently saying nothing as Kirito vanished in a puff of smoke.  

“No point in doing much of anything.  Honestly I wonder why You move around at all.”  the new voice in Arc's head reminded him of some sort of sloth or slow moving animal.  It was almost like it didn't really feel like aying what it was saying because it was too much effort.  “Whatever why do I even bother.  It's not like your going to listen to me anyway.”  the thing said.  And it wasn't wrong Arc had already started getting up.  He decided he should at least bring his pillow to the jail or something.  Arc sat back down.  “No point getting up to do that though.  Arc got comfortable and found himself in the lobby of the nearby police station.  “I got a prisoner here.”  He said in a straight voice to nobody in particular

Hikari could almost laugh. Gen saw everything, putting down the earth wall, body flicker, illness extraction and rasengan were now recorded in her memory. Well, that would definitely be a boon for training, wouldn't it? All of a sudden it seemed that she was alone in the catacombs, something that she did not really appreciate. Muttering to herself in annoyance, she would disappear in a flash of light to go and do something creative with her time. Perhaps experiment with Fuinjutsu, Experiment in Space-Time ninjutsu....the possibilities were endless.
