Can he do it? Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!

Kirito was sitting at his desk this morning, his eyes a crimson red with 3 tomoe like pupils in a triangular pattern, as he worked in his paperwork signing what needed to be signed and trashing appropriate documents. He loathed this part of his job but it was a necessary act and if he did not do it no one would. That was when an energetic young boy suddenly barged into the room, pausing to catch his breath. 

"Hokage-Sama! I heard you knew a more powerful Shadow Clone jutsu! Is it true? And if so, can you teach it to me!?"

Kirito merely looked up at the boy. He did not receive any explanation of who the boy was or where he had come from. Were children not taught manners anymore? Kirito would let these actions slide with a mere correction before addressing the reason the boy had come to see him. "I believe you are supposed to knock before you barge in to my office as well as properly introduce yoursefl." he said to the boy with a kind smile. He would give ample pause for the boy to correct himself before continuing. "Now, tell me why you have come to see me this day." Kirito knew he had come because of the rumors of his multi-shadow clone jutsu but he was a man of order and respect and now that the introductions were over with he would have the boy repeat his desire in the correct manner.

'Do you think this boy has what it takes to learn your forbidden technique Kirito?'

Isobu would question Kirito's motives for hearing the boy out. 'In all honesty I do not believe he is ready. However if he can convince me he has potential as well as manners and respect I may choose to teach him.' Kirito said in response to Isobu's words. He would wait, sitting in his chair with his hands clasped on his desk and looking at the boy, for him to speak his response.

The boy corrected himself in his introduction and in his questioning of Kirito's multi-shadow clone technique just as Kirito knew he would. His answers were detailed and respectful, as well as somewhat amusing and finally even intriguing. So this boy was one of his higher ranking ninja in the village. Not only that but he was an Uchiha with his sharingan unlocked and happened to be the 8 tailed beast's host. From his own account he hadn't even begun to master the Hachibi as of yet but still Kirito could see the potential of the young man standing before him. 'Why didn't you tell me this kid was the Hachibi's host? That was information I could have used.' Kirito chastised Isobu. It was in more of a teasing manner than anything else. 'I did not want to influence your choice on training this boy. Chose to train him on his own merit not because he is a Jinchuuriki. I thought you would know better than that.' The Sanbi responded with reason and wisdom as always. This was when he decided to address Taika after a brief pause to collect his thoughts. "I'm surprised I haven't met you before if you are one of my higher rank ninja. You do show some potential, enough to become a strong ninja but what makes you think you have what it takes to be trained by me, the Hokage of the Land of Fire?" Kirito knew that sounded a bit high and mighty but it would certainly get his point across. He would wait anxiously while the boy made his responses.

This kid seemed to have a lot of potential, a good head on his shoulders and common ideals with Kirito. These were all things he considered when deciding on not only who he would train but also picking members of his Anbu and his potential successors. It was important to be strong enough to take on your enemies but it was even more important to show strength of character. Considering Taika's answers he seemed to have met all of those requirements. Normally he would bother the boy to come up with a reason he was uniquely qualified for this but he had already covered that basis by announcing he was the 8 tail's host as well as an Uchiha. 'Well Isobu I've decided. I'm going to train him. If he really impresses me I might even consider making him a member of my Anbu.' Kirito smiled at the boy who was obviously still thinking of ways to impress or convince Kirito to teach him his forbidden technique. 'I think this is a good decision. He seems to have a much better head on his shoulders than that other one did. Are we ever going to find out if he's been killed or not?' Isobu said to Kirito. He seemed to agree with Kirito's choice on training Taika and had brought up Itami's sudden disappearance. It troubled Kirito but not so much as to lose focus from the task at hand. "Very well Taika. I have decided that you are worthy of this technique. It is true that I have developed a mass version of the Shadow Clone technique. I have been able to advance it as far as to make 25 clones of myself all with equal power. They have a bit less stamina than I do but that is a small drawback to the technique. Before we begin, do you have any questions for me?" were his final words of acceptance to the boy, letting him know that he had proven himself worthy in the eyes of the Hokage.

The boy reacted with pure excitement and apparently wonder at Kirito's multi-shadow clone jutsu. He had immediately started calling him sensei and everything. Taika had said he didnt have any questions off the bat. That left Kirito with the ability to steer the conversation however he wanted. He figured he would start by taking Taika outside and going over normal Shadow Clones. "Very well Taika. Follow me outside and we will get started." he said as he stood up, motioning for Taika to follow him, and headed downstairs to go outside. They needed ample space to perform this technique and Kirito really didnt want his office crowded. They made it downstairs fairly quickly. Once outside they walked over to a nearby clearing and Kirito began to speak. "So in order to begin I need to make sure you can adequately perform the Shadow Clone technique. Please do so for me now." Kirito would have enjoyed talking a bit more first but it seemed like Taika was excited to get started so he jumped right into it deciding there was time to talk afterwards. He waited for Taika to do as he asked and would answer any questions or statements he had accordingly.

'He is very enthusiastic this one. If you could train him to keep hie excitement down you might be able to make him one of your Anbu Captains Kirito.'


Isobu always saw people more in depth than Kirito did. Taika did perform the Shadow Clone technique rather flawlessly, of course touching one and having the other perform its own functions os as to prove they were solid. The notion was unnecessary as with his Sharingan still activated he could clearly see they were true Shadow Clones but he acknowledged the boy's efforts. 'What are you waiting for? You need to train him, brainwash him so that he becomes your puppet. A strong puppet that is under OUR control not Arcanis' or anyone else.' Damn. He had almost made it throughout the day without Greed chiming in. Kirito should have known better than to expect anything differently. 'Shut the hell up ya greedy bastard. Kirito don't listen to this idiot. What you really need to be doing is training with me so you can hear my god damn name already. How long are your ears going to be closed!?' And now the gang's all here. That's just what he needed, a circus of voices arguing in his head while he trained one of his students. 'Shut the hell up the both of you! Can't you see I'm busy? Why must you always interrupt me at the worst times.' It was true. Kirito always seemed to have all of his voices talking at once just when he needed them to be silent the most. They were beginning to give him another headache. He tried his best to ignore them and continue with Taika's instruction.

Taika had dispelled his clones and asked if the key to the Multi-Shadow clone technique was to use more chakra or add hand seals. I was somewhat on the right track. 'The secret to this technique Taika, is extremely precise chakra control. You must be able to divide enough of your chakra equally without causing your main body too much fatigue. There are no additional hand seals for this technique, only more chakra and extreme levels of chakra control. Let me demonstrate." Kirito said to the boy, urging him to pay close attention. He would perform the Clone seal and 25 exact copies of himself would appear, each from their own puff of smoke, in a large circle surrounding the Hokage and his student. "This is the maximum number of clones I have been able to make so far. You can of course make any number of clones using this technique from one to twenty-five. It does not always have to be the maximum number." To emphasize his point, every other clone in the circle disappeared in a puff of smoke just as they had arrived leaving thirteen clones surrounding them. Kirito would stand patiently and answer any questions Taika may have at this point before moving on.

The boy's outward excitement seemed to have died down a bit, instead replaced by the calm analytical demeanor Kirito was hoping to see from him. Upon hearing the key to this mass version of the Shadow Clone technique was extreme chakra control, the boy said that would not be a problem and formed another of Kirito's favorite techniques in the palm of his hand. It was the Rasengan, the pinnacle of chakra control. This boy had a lot of potential after all. Taika released the Rasengan and jumped right into trying the Multi-Shadow clone tech. He seemed to be concentrating hard but in the end nothing happened.

"I guess I didn't use as much Chakrea as I would have liked, hm..."


Don't worry too much about it Taika. Remember it is the same basics as creating regular shadow clones. Just imagine yourself creating more of them this time. I am certain you will be able to do it soon.

The boy was a fast learner. He had almost immediately been able to create 3 clones after Kirito's instruction. It seemed that he was showing more and more promise as the day went on. An idea began to take shape in Kirito's mind. He would train Taika in his Multi-Clone technique and then propose to him a position among his Anbu, also offering to train the boy personally from now on. Kirito would finally dispel his clones and watch over Taika's continued training, giving him instruction or correction when needed.

They had been out there working for only just over an hour by the time the boy had managed to fist successfully create four, then eight and finally twenty-five clones. His progress astounded Kirito. It was something he had not seen in a very long time. Any doubts he had about his decision were swiftly swept away as he saw Taika create twenty-five clones before him. A proud smile crept across Kirito's face, Taika coming up to bow before him. "You did well Taika. Congratulations on learning my Multi=clone technique. Rise. There is no need to bow at the moment. You've shown me a lot of potential during this training. I have a proposal for you. For now I have to make a trip to wind country but when I get back come see me in my office. I have something you may be interested in." Kirito said to Taika before giving him leave and then returning to his office to get ready for his trip.
