Palace shifted uncomfortably in her hospital bed. The weight from her belly felt like it was weighing her down to the coushin. She moaned slightly as she felt a sharp pain contract throughout her body. It felt like cold lightning was running through her. Out side her door she could hear doctors and nurses running about the hall, all of the in a hurry to take care of their patients, or go home. Palace herself was quite anxious to return home too, though she wasn't entirely sure that she should be. She feared that her family would not be overly pleased with her when they found out why she'd visited the hospital.
For the last several months Palace had been on leave from the village. Or at least from being a ninja. Her leave had started only a few weeks after her new promotion, so she hadn't even gotten a chance to show everyone what sort of fighter she could be. She supposed that, that time would still come, but she was an impatient uchiha. The last few months went by slowly, as she desperately hoped she'd be able to return to her duties. She'd toured all around the land of fire. She visited every uchiha summer house, and cabin she knew of to get away from the village and her thoughts, but she couldn't escape from one unavoidable fact. She was pregnant.
Shameful for a woman of such noble birth as herself to bare a bastard isn't it? Now you see her dilemma. A noble clan of any kind would go mad knowing that one of their own had consorted with another, and bore a child, but the uchiha doubly so. They'd be furious knowing that she'd watered down their bloodline. That's why she hadn't been home in so long. Her parents would hang her from the walls if they found out. Especially since the father had passed on.
He was her ray of sunshine. Asher. Tall guy, curley hair, with the smile of a cat that never went away no matter how many times she insulted him. They'd been on the same team since they both became Genin. He was always cracking jokes, and never taking his job seriously, she hated him. Even in the most dire moments he'd me make a smart remake to raise their spirits. Her boundless optomisim was so foreign, and opposite to Palace. How could she not fall hopelessly in love with him? Oh course as all thing do, he died. Jumped right on top of her as an explosive tag went off. The smile on his faced stayed even as he was being blown to pieces. Their squad was out numbered, and flanked by the enemy, but after that she killed them all. That's actually how she got her promotion. Only to find out later that she was baring Ashur's child.
Life is tough sometimes isn't it? Palace shrugged off the painful memories and turned herself to thoughts that didn't pain her so much. Of course even as she did the pain from her pregnant belly ripped through her again, immediately bringing back to reality. The reality being that in a few hours she'd have a brand new baby boy in her arms, and a whole future in front of her. If she was ever looking for the one thing in her life to protect above all else she knew that she was about to have it. His father protected both of them, and now it was Palace's turn.
The Uchiha clan might disown her and throw her to the curb. But she didn't really care. She'd have a family of her own now. She'd be he princess of her own clan. Starting with this baby in her belly. She cringed slightly as another jolt hit her. They were coming more often now. The baby wanted to come out and meet it's mama. She couldn't blame him, she was pretty beautiful. Well not right now because she was in birthing mode, but usually she was. She hadn't spent those last few months just running away from her responsibilities. Oh no. She'd been reading and digesting just about every book on child care that she could over the course of those months. She actually felt sad for her child. He wouldn't get to experience any hilarious new parent learning mistakes. Too bad. He'd just have to live with having a competent mother to raise him. She refused to get mushy about it, but this baby was going to have one awesome childhood.
Eventually the doctors came in, and it was time to deliver a baby. She was fully dilated and it felt like the entire lower half of her body wanted to fall off of her body. Dramatic music played throughout the scene as well as the muffled voices of the doctors as they went to work. There where unflattering shot of Palace's bright red face a she she cried out in agony. There were several vagues shots of her splayed out legs and a doctor looking into her glory. And when the tie finally came! When the final push arrived, and the baby was born. Then the cord was cut, and air was pushed into the baby's lungs. We were all greeted by the miracle of sound that is a born babies... silence.
Palace's heart felt like it had been wretched out from her chest. Her baby. Her baby, and the love of her life stolen from the world before she got to live her life with them in it. Her woeful, guttural crying was beyond her control. Beyond even her experience. She just felt like she was trapped in her own body as she was forced to listen to her own body weep these sad alien sounds. The sorrow felt like a pit she would not be escaping within her lifetime.
This was actually a lot darker than what I'd originally started writing, however all taste aside. As she watched the doctors deliver her son, he eyes grew red as her sharingan awakened within her.
