Gwynevere and her Lancelot (p)

Gwynevere waited patiently among the branches of a strong and ancient tree. Her tiny perfect form was all swaddles in the lucious fabric of a sundress, and her pink top was shaded by a brimming sun hat. She even had very lady like gloves on her tiny hands. It'd been a long time since she'd had a good bit of relaxation. She wanted to spend a nice afternoon picnicking with her favorite knight. (Don't tell the others) Down near the roots of the tree was a picnic basket absolutely brimming with all sorts of nummy treats and desserts. Also sandwiches and stuff like that, but mainly insanely sweet stuff.

As she sat on the tree branches she hummed a tune and kicked her feet through the air. God grief she was happy that her village got absorbed into the neither. She like so simple fishing types, but man life was so much better when you didn't have any responsibility at all. Now she remebered why she became a wandering knight. Well that and the whole exile thing. A tiny pang of hurt flowed through her body. She hardly found the life she'd lived up until this point fair. She wasn't one to indulge in self pitty, but she figured she'd give it a go. She was trapped in the boddy of a nine year old for all eternity!

Anyway those were hardly the kind of happy thoughts a person should be thinking as they wait for their friend to arrive, for their date. Well not a date! Just two friends hanging out! Geez! Gawain was practically her brother for pete's sake! Besides he was a boy! That's so gross!

Did they have a village to reclaim from the fairy realm or something? Gawain waved the thoughts away as he traveled through the foreign forest. His heart went out for the people but they were in a better place now. Probably. They were just faries it wasn't like they were crazy physco killers or anything. Well probably. Any way as always his main concern was with the protection of he princess. In fact that desire within him had become so all encompassing lately that he was starting to feel as if he was a one dimensional character. He dreaded that idea, and hoped that soon he'd come across some fresh stores of personality.

It didn't take much wandering for him to come across his beloved again. He was so familiar with her chakra signature it was like she was an extension of his body. He was as used to having her on his back as she was to having his hands on his wrists.

He wore a simple white robe and pants, as he usually did. He cared very little for pomp and fashion. However that's not to say that he was incapable of appreciating it. When he saw Gwynevere in her dress he couldn't help but feel his heart melt.

Why was it that a person pretty much dedicated to the killing of others, found himself powerless before a mere child? If it wasn't for her he'd be a stone hearted killer. A warrior, worse than that a berserker. She and her kind heart made him more. Made him kind, or at least tolerant. She made him noble, made him a knight!

Or at the very least a half way decent body guard.

"My lady!" Gawain yelled up into the tree tops. "You look radiant as always!" He let out a soft chuckle and waited for her to descend from the tree. He hadn't seen her so relaxed looking in so long. Ruling a country must suck! "What's on our agenda today mi'lady?"

"Nothing!" The lady gwynevere announced joyously. She leapt down from the branches of the tree, and landed of the forest floor beneath. "I have nothing planned, what so ever! At all!" She let out a small series of giggles. "Other than eating a bunch of sweets with you!"

She pulled the basket to goodies up from the floor, and held them out to him. "I thought that we just might enjoy a do nothing kind of day, what do you think?" Not true at all, she knew that Gawain was the type of person who couldn't go a day without doing something productive. A do nothing day just might be the death of the poor man. Still her baked goods were so yummy that even he may be tempted to indulge for once.

Indeed Gawain bent down at the waist and snatched a muffin from the basket. He tossed the confection into his mouth and let it melt along his tongue. "A do nothing day?" Gawain scoffed between bites of muffin. "I'd hardly think you the kind of person to sit still for long enough to actually do nothing." He gave her a devilish look. "If you can manage to control yourself long enough, then I'll happily relax with you!"

What a weird spot they lived in, in life. From Royalty to tramps, to Kage, to slackers. His life may not have been a long one, but it had variety!

They lived in a weird limbo the two of them. Gwynevere as an eternal child, and Gawain as her Eternal protector. He could never decided if she needed to grow up, considering that she was almost twenty, or just enjoy being a kid, considering that physically and for the most part mentally she was only nine. Perhaps that wasn't for him to decide though. She seemed to know on her own when it was time for her to be an adult or child.

Gawain just wished he knew what he should be to her.
