Akarui has the build of a seemingly normal human being as a scrawny young mna with little to no athletic background who prefers to read book, however, in all actuality he has a well-toned lean body that has been through many tough training session and other things that has formed him into the person he looks like and acts like today.

In addition, he has white hair and seemingly black colored nails though he developed both these after being tortured for ten days straight, which was due to heavy stress, anxiety, and continues bodily regeneration. This condition is known as Marie Antoinetten Syndrome. He has hazel eyes that have predominate green coloration to them however, seeing as he is the first ghoul to seemingly ever been recorded being born with one kakugan in contrast to normal ghouls who have both. However, this was actual until recently been discussed as an urban legend therefore, his parents made him wear an eyepath over his right eye (the eye that was developed into a kakugan.) which gave him his nickname Gantai.

However, he can now usually be seen wearing a form fitting black outfit with black shorts over top that stop bellow his knees and a jacket top that covers his whole neck and goes down to top of his elbows that is a slighter grey color. However, if he has to do some business in a village he will switch into a more normal attire to be walking around in public. (Casual attire to be described in topic it is used otherwise character is always wearing his black outfit.)

Personality:
Akarui was once a shy and reserved person, he usually spent most of his times reading books, mostly novels. He was extremely gentle and appears to be optimistic most of the time. Influenced by his mother a true testament of modesty, he was willingly take blame and punishment from others so that he can be someone who doesn’t hurt people, but rather “the person getting hurt”. However, this lack of assertiveness normally got him bullied and taken advantage of.

However, underneath this selfless and gentle nature was an underlying fear of being alone, ever since his mother died Akarui would have had developed a personality to resemble his mother’s. He despises the idea of solitude, hence he tries to protect those dear to him so he would not have to face his fears of being alone in the world.

However, after being held captive and undergoing constant torture for ten days at the hands of Yamori, Akarui’s personality would change. He would now be more ruthless and brutal in order to protect himself, all the while maintaining complete composure. He no longer fears his ghoul nature and as a result, he becomes much more cold and barbaric during battles, such as when he began eating Yamori’s Kagune in order to strengthen himself. By embracing his ghoul nature wholeheartedly, Akarui has given up being human thinking they are weak and inferior beings.

Furthermore, he seemingly has no ambitions and wanders the lands aimlessly to appease his boredom with humanity, his ruthlessness and aptitude in killing, showing throughout the lands as his deeds begin to catch up to him, he is deadly, violent, and bloodthirsty.  

In addition, Akarui is a very silent, calm and pensive person. He has very little interactions with his father anymore, because he raised his him to believe that the only thing sustaining them was darkness, and that the only pleasure in the world came from causing the deaths of others. So he killed him after coming back from his torture to show is father just how much pleasure he would obtain from killing someone.
(side note: Akarui has a seeming obsession after being tortured with cracking his knuckles while doing something.)

History:

Akarui would have seemingly been living a normal life working at his parents shop from the age of thirteen until nineteen, he would have been a waiter brining people their coffee, sandwitches, and other things they ordered at their restaurant called Anteiku that his mother started to house ghouls from the people that would be trying to seemingly wipe them off the face of the earth. However, after his birth and record of him being the first ever one eyed ghoul he would be hunted down by an organization that he didn’t know existed that was known as Aogiri which had a sole purpose of creating the perfect one eyed king…

Therefore, after Akarui would turn nineteen he would have been captured by an organization known as Aogiri, ten days before Anteiku stormed the Aogiri hideout, Yamori showed Akarui his "hobby room". Akarui is shocked when he sees a dead person sitting on a chair, whom Yamori reveals to be his former underling who is tortured for making a mistake. Yamori showed Akarui Rc suppressants and explained that they are used to weaken ghouls and forcibly injected the drug by stabbing Akarui's left eye with a syringe. After the injection, Akarui's body was weakened so that Yamori could torture him for pleasure. Days of torment took a toll on his physical and mental state. The torment had made his hair whiten and he begins to wonder what has happened to his friends. In a state of despair, he begins to hallucinate and began to reminisce over his tragic past. A seeming woman called him and his mother weak, but Yamori appeared with his mother and father before she finished. Enraged that Yamori didn't fulfill his end of their bargain, Akarui was given another ultimatum: Who of the two will he spare? Unable to comply with Yamori's twisted pleasure, Kaneki refused as Nico protested against Yamori's distasteful violence. The aggravated Yamori ultimately killed both the mother and child ghoul and he and Nico left Akarui in despair. Once more the women’s illusion spoke to Akarui, taunting him that it was his weakness that lead the two to their grisly demise. 'Rize' reasons that if more brutal ghouls like Yamori and Aogiri were to come to power, then his friends will eventually suffer similar fates. Realizing that in order to prevent this, he must become a ghoul full-heartedly and learn to control his kagune.

During the Anteiku attack, Yamori returned to Akarui. He told him of a rumor that if a ghoul were to cannibalize one another, they will become stronger but ghoul meat was considered disgustingly distasteful. When he motioned to carve Akarui in order to eat him, Akarui bites him and agrees with his latest notion. Freeing himself from the chair, he attacks Yamori and bites him, jeering that ghouls were indeed made to compete and that it can't be help that Yamori could be devoured, too.The two fought with their kagunes, in which Akarui eventually overpowers him and proceeded to eat Yamori's kagune. After feasting on his kagune, Akarui reminded him, before leaving, thatt Anteiku will come to the hobby room and kill him while he has been wounded and disarmed.

However, after he was safetly reunited with his friends he would state that he will not be coming back to Anteiku. He then proceeds to say he will be leaving forever and then would knock out his friends before seemingly walking into the distance to meet up with someone, he is later seen with his new outfit, walking towards three mysterious people, his new journey would begin…
